I've just re-seen this, after about 8 years, and it's made me recall one of my favorite folksingers: Arlo Guthrie. A natural talent for songs of the times, son of one of the greatest folkwriters ever, and damn handsome to boot! Let's give it up for Arlo, comin' into Los Angeles on a train they call the City of New Orleans! :)

My favorite stuff of his are the live albums he made with Pete Seeger in the seventies. -

Fri, March 25, 2005 - 10:30 PMwe just watched the recently remastered dvd the other night. Arlo does a commentary throughout the whole movie in the "extras" part of the dvd. We actually sat thru the whole movie twice, the first with just the flick, the second with him dubbing commentary over it. He was fab throughout. His recollections and additional notes about the people and events which comprised Alice's made for xlnt folklore in it's own right. Highly recommended.
